Youth answer the Upward Call

Young people on last year’s Upward Call Pilgrimage.

“For young adults who are looking to go deeper in your faith and connect with other Irish young adults, we have the pilgrimage for you,” is the claim of Sr. Mara Grace OP, a young Dominican Sister based in Limerick.

The pilgrimage, to Italy, will be traveling to sacred places in both Rome and Orvieto around the theme ‘The Beauty of the Word Made Flesh’. Of course pilgrimage is very much still a part of our Irish heritage with Lough Derg, Our Lady’s Island and Croagh Patrick being still very popular destinations for pilgrims, attracting thousands each year.

Those participating on this Italian pilgrimage, August 22nd-28th, will first meet in Dublin for an overnight to meet other pilgrims, to pray together, and get rest for the early departure from Dublin to Rome the next morning.

“The rest of the week we will be staying next to Lake Bracciano where we will travel to Rome and Orvieto. With excursions to Eucharistic miracles and other holy places, seminar discussions on the gift of the Eucharist, and daily reception of the Eucharist, the pilgrims will be guided into a deeper understanding of and love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament”, explains Sr. Mara Grace.

The Dominican Friars and Sisters are hosting this pilgrimage, named Upward Call. Cost is €615, all inclusive. To book, please email limerick@op-tn.org by 1st June.
